Learning Assistant

Reference number: A5110119

Location: Gwent

Are you looking to get some quality experience with Europe's largest conservation charity, engaging with young people and delivering environmental education? Could you inspire the next generation with a passion for wildlife?

We are looking for a Learning Assistant to work with our Learning Officer and volunteers, to deliver RSPB programmes which connect school children and young people with nature through curriculum-linked education programmes in the inspirational setting of Newport Wetlands National Nature Reserve in Wales.

In addition to proven experience in a learning environment, you'll be a passionate communicator, able to enthuse groups of young people about nature. You'll need confidence and the ability to facilitate a day's programme in the field with a group of students and their teacher.

The role also includes maintaining teaching equipment, resources and materials, encouraging and supporting volunteers with school groups on the reserve and delivering non curriculum linked visitor engagement as appropriate, to support the broader visitor operation on site.

Being part of our team will mean you are making a difference to nature and people every day. If you believe you are the right person for this exciting and rewarding role we look forward to receiving your application.

The RSPB is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to the appropriate safeguarding checks upon appointment.
