Communications Officer

Scotland is home to a fantastic array and density of habitats that are rich with some of the most impressive species in the UK, and we are looking for a communications officer with the dedication and enthusiasm required to help let everyone else know this.

Based in Inverness, you will be responsible for bringing our conservation and people engagement work to life in print and digital formats, to inspire support for our work. You will work with key staff and teams to make their stories shine, support the development and implementation of destination marketing, visitor experience, events and interpretation to target audiences. You will be adept at working up press releases, 'selling in' stories to journalists, editors and producers, and be comfortable working up reactive responses to fast moving stories with key colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering excellent communication products in multiple formats, collaborating with colleagues and teams to influence decision makers, and a thorough understanding of the full spectrum of communication channels. You will be enthusiastic about nature conservation with a keen interest in birds, species and habitats, and a desire to see their fortunes improved both now and for future generations.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. You will be asked to declare both spent and unspent convictions and cautions at offer of employment stage.

Salary starting at

£19,602 to £21,236 per annum
