Can you help us unlock the Secret Forest? Franchises Lodge is our near 1,000 acre new reserve in the New Forest National Park, a landscape of ancient woodland and conifer plantation that are ripe for restoration into an un-paralleled biodiversity hotspot.

Our 200-year vision is to restore a landscape-scale mosaic of deciduous woodland, wood pasture, heath and mire that really delivers for people and nature. Your role will be to start this journey and set the direction for the reserve. In the first two years you will introduce grazing, establish a work base, a residential volunteering programme, oversee forestry operations, deliver a major project to remove rhododendron, and lead the establishment of Cameron's Cottage - an off grid residential education centre at the heart of the Forest.

Are you the right person to make these ambitious plans a reality and develop our new reserves operation? You'll be energetic, practically minded, bold and astute, able to deliver an ambitious work programme, and build / maintain critical working relationships and partnerships in this complex and highly political environment. With a proven track record of managing nature reserves, you will be experienced in project management, land management, compliance & risk management, leading and managing staff / volunteers, and working with communities and stakeholders.

This role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. You will be asked to declare unspent convictions and cautions at offer of employment stage.
