Legacy and In Memoriam Adviser - Scotland

Reference number: 8alwG-1

Location: Edinburgh

Do you have the appetite to help change the face of legacy giving at the RSPB, working directly with some of our highest value supporters?

Legacies (gifts left to the RSPB in supporters' Wills) contributed around £36m to the RSPB last year - that's nearly a third of our net income. Along with our in memoriam giving income (gifts given to the RSPB in memory of a loved one) we believe that this can grow exponentially. This is where you come in.

The RSPB is starting a network of local Legacy and In Memoriam Advisers, and you will be at the forefront of this new stage of our development. Being one of the first of these positions to be put in place, you will help to shape and develop the role to deliver on the growth of legacy and in memoriam income.

Based at our Edinburgh office, you will be Scotland's lead contact promoting legacy and in memoriam giving to supporters, solicitors, funeral directors, and internal colleagues such as those at our nature reserves.

Responsible for delivering first class stewardship to legacy supporters, you will have excellent listening skills, empathy, responsivness and creativity, all of which are critical to success. As a Legacy and In Memoriam Adviser you will provide tailored stewardship of our supporters by delivering events, providing advice about giving legacy gifts to the RSPB, and maintaining relationships with people for whom the RSPB will be acting as Executor of their Will.

You will be highly efficient and pay rigerous attention to detail, as you will be responsible for maintaining accurate supporter records and minimising risk at all times.

If you think this opportunity sounds like it's for you, then please get in touch.

This role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. You will be asked to declare unspent convictions and cautions at offer of employment stage.
