Senior Rural Surveyor

Reference number: wcLPU-1

Location: Belfast

Why work for RSPB as a Rural Surveyor in Northern Ireland ?

Because you get to carry out the full range of private practice work on the land of most conservation value, in Northern Ireland and make a professional contribution towards overcoming the conservation challenges faced in the UK rural environment often using groundbreaking techniques. There are targets, objectives and budgets to meet, but you will not have the private practice requirements of time sheets, fee targets or be expected to generate new clients. Nor will you be on-call for tenants.

You will need to take an innovative technical approach to delivering conservation objectives, with a challenging work programme of varied, interesting and rewarding work. You will cover: estate management, land and building valuations/purchases/disposals, farm management, land management, forestry, renewable energy, landlord and tenant issues, residential lettings and commercial property issues, planning and development, sporting management, BPS and agri-environment agreement work, and project management. You will be encouraged to be out of the office, providing professional advice to staff, to minimise risk and optimise financial returns for the RSPB's nature reserves. You will demonstrate initiative, motivation and flair to spot income opportunities.

You will be a talented individual who understands the needs of modern rural land holdings and have the specialist skills to advise a diverse range of individuals at all levels.

This is a part time position and we will be flexible regarding the successful candidates working pattern.
