Learning Officer

Are you passionate about engaging with young people and delivering environmental education? Could you inspire the next generation with a passion for wildlife?

We are looking for a Learning Officer to manage and deliver RSPB programmes which connect school children and young people with nature through curriculum-linked education programmes in the inspirational setting of RSPB Bempton Cliffs nature reserve.

In addition to proven experience in a learning environment, you'll be a passionate communicator; able to enthuse groups of young people about nature. You'll need confidence and the ability to facilitate our learning programmes in the field with a group of students and their teacher.


The role also includes recruiting and managing volunteers, promoting to schools and keeping our education programmes up to date with the National Curriculum and teaching practice.

The hours for this position are annualised 15 hours a week, working 5 days a week in May, June and July (with some flexibility to accommodate school bookings) to cover our busy school visits season, and working one day a week for the rest of the year.

Salary starting at

£19,602 to £21,236 per annum pro rata - Applicants should expect under normal circumstances to receive an offer at the bottom of the advertised range

Hours: Part time, 15 hours per week - annualised. Working 5 days per week in May, June and July and 1 day per week for the rest of the year
Contract: Permanent
