Warden Stour Estuary/Wolves Woods reserves

Reference number: A4160220

Location: Stour Estuary Reserve Office

Are you're ready for a new challenge? Our team manages four excellent reserves centred on the Stour Estuary and Wolves Woods reserves in North Essex/South Suffolk (think "Constable country" and a superb and picturesque Estuary with thousands of wintering waders, ducks and geese and some of the best ancient woodlands in Suffolk, resplendent with bluebells, nightingales and a host of other specialist woodland flora and fauna) and we'd like to hear from you. We are looking for a good communicator and enthusiastic team player who already has a proven level of woodland management experience to join the Stour Estuary and Wolves Woods team to help plan and drive habitat management and wildlife monitoring there. This role, as Warden, mainly covers Wolves Woods reserves. Working with a small team of staff and a large team of dedicated volunteers, you may also be involved with habitat management and visitor engagement work elsewhere in our operational area.

In addition to the Essential and Desirable qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience set out in the Warden Role Profile, we are looking for an individual with a proven range of machinery competencies and experience (in particular Brushcutter/Chainsaw Felling Small Trees and Herbicide application PA1/PA6 are Essential, tractor driving MO1 and 4x4 qualification are Desirable). Full, clean driving licence is Essential.
