Assistant Warden

The RSPB are looking for an enthusiastic individual to lead on the machinery, reserve infrastructure & buildings maintenance for the RSPB's Wiltshire Grassland reserves based at Manor Farm, RSPB Winterbourne Downs. This is a fantastic opportunity to play an active part in RSPB's work in creating a new landscape with bespoke management for the stone-curlew and iconic chalk downland wildlife, from corn buntings and fragrant orchids to Adonis blue butterflies.The postholder will be responsible for the arable plot cultivations, and wild bird seed mixtures, hedge and scrub management, maintaining footpath and nature trails, fencing and livestock infrastructure. We are looking for someone with the ability to use a computer, drive RSPB vehicles and have experience of a wide range of machinery, especially use of tractors and drawn implements. They will need to be a good team player and utilise their experience and machinery knowledge to enable our reserves team and volunteers to take on new projects and be more effective in delivering the reserves management plans. Experience of livestock management will be an advantage.

Salary starting at

£19,602 to £21,236 Per Annum
