Are you an engaging and creative communicator with a passion to save nature? Do you have the skills to develop and deliver communications that inspire others to act?

A new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced individual with excellent communication skills to join RSPB NI's communications team.

Working for the country communications manager and in tandem with the campaigning communications officer, you will support an ambitious nature recovery programme that will include UK-wide initiatives as well as public-facing campaigns and events here in Northern Ireland.

A skilled communications specialist, you will support and promote our public campaigns, inspiring and encouraging others to act and drive change. The ideal candidate has the ability to communicate complex messages in a clear and motivating way to a range of audiences. They will have a proven track record of delivering projects, effective campaign messages and producing media and social media content.

They are enthusiastic about nature conservation with an interest in wildlife and habitats (particularly birds) and a desire to see their fortunes improved both now and for future generations.

We are a small team who are passionate about the work we do. We wish to recruit a highly organised, flexible person who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can prioritise efficiently and think creatively. You will be self-motivated and able to work under your own initiative to meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will need to travel to areas not always serviced by public transport and needs to be able to meet this requirement as part of the interview process. This may involve early/late finishes or occasional overnight stays by prior arrangement, for which time off in lieu is applicable.

Salary starting at

£19,602 to £21,236 per annum

Hours & contract information

Hours: Full time
Contract: Fixed Term - 15 months with the possibility of extension
