Safeguarding and Investigations Manager

Reference number: A5000220

Location: Bedfordshire

The RSPB has always been here to save nature - from our origins as a campaign to end the use of feather in women's hats right through to our present-day ground-breaking research, saving species from extinction, protecting some of wildlife's finest sites in the UK and beyond and engaging millions of people in the wonders of wildlife. We've been successful because we've always adapted. We've never stood still. We have evolved . . .

We are looking for an experienced HR Manager with specific expertise in safeguarding and managing investigations. You will help us to ensure our Safeguarding Policy is applied across the organisation and our employees and volunteers are supported in delivering a safe environment for all. The role will also involve being our lead investigations manager for incidents involving employees and volunteers that may breach our policies and procedures.

You will be equally happy working on strategy with senior leaders as you are investigating incidents, establishing the facts and working within our policies and procedures to establish the appropriate actions. You won't be afraid to challenge the status quo and suggest ways of improving safeguarding practice, policies and procedures for the organisation. Always with the aim of ensuring the RSPB is a safe place for employees, volunteers, our supporters and the public however they are interacting with us.

If you are the kind of person who is passionate about making a difference in your work both for people and nature, then we'd love to hear from you.

The RSPB is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to the appropriate safeguarding checks upon appointment.
