Adult bittern wading in reedbed at Lee Valley Country Park

Local Group trip to Suffolk

A four day excursion to Suffolk in mid May was the groups annual spring outing. Birding highlights included a Stone Curlew at Cavenham Heath, Nightingale and Woodlark near Walberswick, a Red Backed Shrike, Bittern and Bearded Tit at Minsmere and super views of Long Eared Owl and Spoonbill at Havergate Island. All in all around 110 species seen by all. And, many thanks to the Griffin Inn at Yoxford for some fantastic food and hospitality.
