An Opportunity

The Duckworth Trust is looking for a Voluntary Survey Officer to survey Chapter Meadows and surrounding paths - Bromwich Psrade and Slingpool Walk in Worcester. The survey to be carried out consistently (frequency not specified) to cover birds and butterflies. The records, via email or in person to go on a quarterly basis to the Trust who will then submit them to the Worcester Biological records Office.

A keen interest in, and an ability to identify bird and butterly species by sight and sound is necessary. Trust staff support is available short term for those willing to increase their knowledge and expertise. A phone and/or camera and access to the internet is desirable. Travel expenses available.

A FOND FAREWELL

Well, not really as Lyndon will still be a member of the Group and may be persuaded to put on the occasional trip by minibus. This would limit the number of people who could go on them, but it's better than nothing and as no one has come forward to replace him, this might be the best we can hope for.

At the Indoor Meeting last night, the members presented Lyndon with a gift and a cheque in recognition and appreciation of all the day and overnight trips he has put on for us over the past twelve years. This has involved an enormous amount of work, as I now realise having organised a few day trips myself for next year.

On the subject of trips, a reminder that we still have vacancies for RSPB Marshside and Martin Mere on Jan 18; Blacktoft Sands March 15, and Middleton Lakes on April 26. See Events section for details.
