Reedbed and sea at Minsmere

ALL CHANGE

Last night I chaired my last committee meeting which was rather sad as I have no immediate successor. and the committee will, collectively, have to take on the role. I felt rather guilty as I packed my briefcase, but then consoled myself with the thought that we now have a complete committee now that Ann Ball (Indoor Meetings) and Jenny Brumhead (Outdoor Trips) have joined us, and Melanie Bell has taken on Publicity. So we are in good heart, if only we can find someone to take over from me. Any offers?

Tomorrow night we have our Indoor Meeting where there will be a cake stall. Yummy! And there will be mulled wine and mince pies at the December meeting, so don't miss it!

For those of you who didn't go on the trip to Portland (see under Trip Reports) you missed a treat and because of its success I have been asked to arrange another trip next year. This time it will be a four day three night stay in Norfolk and the likely date is November 21st. This is a good time to go because of the number of waders, wildfowl and migrants to be found on this coast. Expressions of interest are invited.

Last Friday we held a Quiz Evening & Supper at Powick Village Hall. It was really good and so well organised.
Leslie Hitchen, a professional caterer and group member, provided the supper which was excellent and Peter Jones manned the bar with much panache. Janet Jones was quizmaster extroadinaire, and entertained us with a variety of quizzes which was won by the No Hopers Group - a misnomer if ever there was one. Janet is to be congratulated for providing such an entertaining evening, and with a little time tweaking is something we would like to do again. Thank you to all who helped on the night which raised £120 for RSPB.
