Protest against the plume trade, London 1911

Mike Clarke, RSPB's Chief Executive, has just heard that the 'Saving Nature Directives' have been saved. They were threatened with being seriously weakened and so the RSPB and Birdlife International who had originally shaped the legislation, fought a campaign, together with other concerned wildlife organisations and their members, businesses and politicians to stop the EU laws which protect wildlife from being diluted or lost altogether following a politically prejudiced review.

All of us who joined the campaign have reason to be proud, and if ever proof were needed that collectively we have a voice, then this, surely, is it.
