A work party of local group members spent the day at Wildgoose Care Farm at Hallow where a recently acquired reserve was in urgent need of some TLC. Willow scrub and brambles had taken over and needed to be cut back to bring the reserve back to its full potential. In return for our help volunteers will be give access to this private reserve which is rich in wildlife.

Everyone set to with a will, loppers and saws at the ready, and before long a big pile of poles and brash had built up. A huge bonfire was started with Nick supervising the burn. It was hard work but great fun and a lot was achieved, to the delight of the reserve manager.

Another work party is scheduled for March 19th so if you would like to join it, please contact Nick Skilbeck.
