We don't like to boast, but we've definitely made it to the top.

Living in high-rise accommodation isn't for everybody, but at Malham we peregrines have everything we need: beautiful views over the Yorkshire Dales, plenty of fresh air and the best apartment in the block.

That's a block of limestone, of course – Malham's dramatic cliffs have sheltered bird life for centuries, and we're not planning to move out any time soon.

Come and see us hunting the cliffs amid our many friendly neighbours – from noisy green woodpeckers to redstarts, dippers, house martins and a colony of swifts.

That's what we call living the high life.

The viewpoint is free, but there is a car park charge at Malham National Park Information Centre.

You can find out more about the viewpoint and the work being done to help me in the short video below:

When can you see us?

This Date with Nature is a partnership between the RSPB and the Yorkshire Dales National Park who are delighted to be running the 16th year of the project. Staff and volunteers will be at the viewpoint Thursday to Monday from 5 April - 5 August 2019 (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Weather/site condition permitting.

What's at the site?

Refreshment facilities and toilets are available in Malham Village.

How to find us

The viewpoint is situated beside the footpath from Malham village to the Cove. Signs will be in place when the viewpoint is open.

By train/by bus
Trains run to the nearby market towns of Skipton and Settle, where a number of bus services then run to Malham. Please check Dalebus for full details of services and timetables.

Please note that some services run to Malham Tarn, which is a mile north of the cove. This stop does not afford easy access to the cove. Malham village is the best destination for relatively straightforward access to the viewpoint.
