  • Morning Mike

You beat me to it by posting, thought I better post a screen shot to bump the new 2018 thread to top of list.

This is a flying visit :-) will be back nearer the start of the season though.

  • Thanks, Mary, for the new thread!

  • Thanks from me as well, Ian

  • Both on the nest @ PINK SHELL.   Female showing off her three eggs.

  • Bea and Jasper are back at Hilton Head

  • Update from Audubon.  Burn who was Bailey's companion at the rehab centre has been successfully released and looks to be in great shape, unfortunately Bailey would appear to be a long term resident.

Extract: "As for Bailey, she has unfortunately not made any progress since our last update. She continues to be unable to regularly reach high perches and sustain high flights in the rehab barn."

It's unfortunate, but at least she's in good hands.

  • Thanks for the update Thelma, unfortunately I can't see Bailey ever being released back to the wild. Ian

  • Thanks, Thelma.  I agree, at least she is in good hands and will receive the best treatment even if she does need to remain there instead of being released.

  • Mistaken identity at Hilton Head but Jasper has now arrived

  • Changeover just now at Pink Shell. All seems well, although I was watching a few days ago when an intruder landed on the nest, needless to say the female was not impressed and eventually was able to tip the intruder off the edge of the nest.
