The geese are arriving back at Mersehead

  • It was lovely to see the geese are starting to arrive at Mersehead - no barnacles yet of course but we saw skeins of pink-footed geese arriving, and also saw canada geese and a small number of greylag.

Looking forward to the barnacle geese arriving!

  • Lovely  shots, Maggy. I always look forward to this time of year for the winter birds to start arriving.

  • Thank you, Paul.  Me too!

  • We were back down at Mersehead last week and there are many more geese and wildfowl there now - a perfect time to visit!  (though it is a great place to visit all through the year)

As well as flocks of geese, it was great to see a flock of curlew
