Basil Thornton was fortunate (or skillful!) enough to capture this male Reed Bunting just as he let go to take flight. A true moment captured!
Whilst staring skywards this afternoonin teh vain hope that the White-tailed Eagle seen a few miles to the west and heading our way would actually appear we also noted quite a few new butterflies on the wing including many more Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell along with four species of White including our first Large and a smart male Orange Tip.
