Tune in tomorrow to see Saltholme in the spotlight!  A short film featuring many of our Wildlife explorers and Phoenix members will be aired on the BBC’s National Lottery Draw show this Saturday night. There is also some fantastic footage of the reserve on the film and if you were out or browsing in our shop on the day of filming you might even catch a glimpse of yourself.

It’s all about getting as much public support (and as many votes) as we can for a very worthy cause. You may have seen in the news recently that there are growing concerns that children are becoming increasingly disconnected with nature. Here at Saltholme we are we are putting Heritage Lottery Funding to good use to do our bit to rectify this situation. Thanks to a lot of hard work and a great deal of support from you guys, our work has been nationally recognised during this year’s National Lottery Awards. In fact we are in the Finals of the best education project category –but I am sure you already knew that.

We have been doing all we can to encourage you to vote, and a big thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. We are up against some tough opposition, so we need to keep on going if we want to win! If you have not already cast your vote or if you can’t wait until Saturday to see the clip then you can log on to the National Lottery Award website for a sneak preview.

Voting for the finals ends at midnight on Sunday 28 October. To vote for lifelong learning at Saltholme call 08448 369 686 or click HERE.  We will also have a computer set up in the visitor centre over the next few weekends – so you can register your vote when you next visit.

Thanks to all your support and stay tuned for the results!
