Wildlife

Wildlife
We're about more than just birds (though obviously we like them a lot).

Notes on nature

We love nature... from every little bug on a blade of grass to birds, butterflies, otters and oaks!
  • Monday's magic moment: Happy New Year!

Hands up if you're going to a party tonight? Yes? Maybe just a wee celebration to see in the 2013?

I found this great image of wintery Bewick's swans on RSPB Images. It's a family gathering that certainly looks like they're celebrating something! And as with all family celebrations, the youngster is looking decidedly embarrassed whilst his or her older relatives partake in a little singsong! Sound familiar?

Thanks for your support over the past year, and here's to 2013. May it be filled with wonderful wildlife.

    Happy New Year!

  • This weekend...do nothing!

Yes, you did read me right.

Do nothing. Nada. Nichts. Rien. Do nowt.

Even if only for a few minutes, I know that switching off from whatever task I'm doing works wonders and puts any stresses I might be having into perspective.

And once you've had your fill of doing nothing, why not check out our previous This weekend... posts? We've got great weekend activity ideas covered.

    See you in 2013.

  • Monday's magic moment: a time for family and friends

For me, Christmas means migrating back to my parents for a few days, where I'll also bump into my sisters and have a gool ol' catch up.

I hope that wherever you are, you have a fun and festive couple of days with your friends and family.

As my last Monday Moment of 2012, I leave you with this great image of waxwings. You never know, you might even see some before the year ends - we're currently experiencing an influx of them!
