Kingfisher question - East Midlands

This question is answered
Hi all, My girlfriend and I have been bird-watching every weekend since we started at New Year (pretty sure this means we've got the bug!). We've seen lots of wonderful species and had some really quite delightful experiences. We are yet to see a Kingfisher however and the other half cannot get it out of her head! I've come to the conclusion that we'll be spending day/s sat on a riverbank or hide in the hope of seeing one. Please can you tell me where you would sit and wait if you live in the East Midlands area? We will travel pretty much anywhere... Attenborough Nature Reserve is very local but we don't really know where to wait and I don't want to spend the day in the wrong place! Even a 1 second glimmer of one would be nice! Many Thanks, Dan
