Unknown bird song, Crawley Down

This question is answered

Hello everyone, can anyone identify this birdsong? It is very vocal particularly in the early morning and late evening. It lives in the wooded area by our local pond in Crawley Down, mid Sussex.

Thanks in anticipation!

  • Hi Tim welcome to the community.

I think it's a Song Thrush, if you have any binoculars try looking at the top of those trees and you may see it.

  • Yes I would say a Song Thrush also, a lovely little bird if you find it Tim. They like to sit at the tops of the trees and sing, lovely melodies.

  • Hi Tim (neighbour) (Horley) as already identified I agree its a Song Thrush.

  • Thank You for your quick reply, Yes, that does sound just like it. It has only appeared this year and he really likes to make his presence known!
