What is this moth, please?

This question is answered

I found it, this morning, sleeping on the edge of a plant propagator tucked away in the greenhouse. I was going to start some purple sprouting broccoli off, but will delay this until tomorrow.

Propagator and moth are tucked away in a safe place on the floor of the greenhouse. Hopefully it will fly off tonight, so I can resume planting tomorrow.

  • Brilliant! I looked it up. Found locally, but common in places.  Must be the large ponds near us that have attracted it.

I found another interesting species, this morning. Couldn't do anything about it (apart from shoo it off) as it was on the piece of garden furniture I was varnishing.

The mormo maura had flown from the propagator after a couple of days, so I was able to carry on with my seed planting.
