Alasdair McKee of the RSPB and Cumbria Wildlife Trust works closely with ospreys in South Cumbria. He will be talking about how this most charismatic bird of prey has returned from extinction in England in the last twenty years. This entertaining illustrated talk will introduce you to these remarkable birds and tell the story of a remarkable conservation comeback in Cumbria and beyond. And explain where the shopping bag comes in.
Alasdair is our Local Groups Officer with the RSPB, he took on the role from Carol Tresadern in 2019, so it will provide an opportunity for him to 'meet' members of the Group and he will be happy to answer any questions about the RSPB. Alasdair's presentation will be also be watched by members of the Liverpool RSPB Local Group.
If you are a Southport Group member and would like an invitation please contact Ian on iwrightstretton@aol.com.
Ian is the Group's Membership secretary, so if you are not a member but would like to join us, please contact him and he will be pleased to give you further information. Our monthly Zoom talks have proved very popular during these strange times.
