Injured birds

There is a misconception that the RSPB is a welfare/rescue charity and that we deal with injured birds. This is not the case - the RSPB is a conservation charity.
If you discover an injured bird, we advise you to call the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999. Ignore the 'wild bird' option and take the option for injured or distressed animals - that should get you through to a person.
If it is a bird of prey, please contact us and we will advise you accordingly.
If a bird is trapped behind a gas fire, you will need to contact your gas supplier (or someone on the gas safe register).
