RSPB Wildlife Explorers

About us

The Ashfield RSPB Wildlife Explorers group is called Ashplorers and was launched in February 2010. The group's name was chosen in a competition run by the group.

Most of our outdoor meetings are held at Brierley Forest Park, Huthwaite although we do also visit other local places that are rich in wildlife. Activities have included orienteering, making fatball feeders for birds using logs and pine cones, quizzes, fun educational games. The group also goes birdwatching, goes on moth & butterfly hunts, pond dipping, investigates owl pellets, and is now building a wildlife garden.

Children under 8 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
