Flowering heather at the RSPB Arne nature reserve

Next Talk - Restoring Lowland Heath Wednesday 12th Oct

A talk by RSPB Biodiversity officer Nick Phillips on restoring one of our most important, and most rapidly disappearing habitats, the lowland heath. Important for plants, butterflies, reptiles and birds such as nightjar, woodlark, tree pipit and Dartford warbler, this habitat has been lost at an alarming rate to urban expansion and forestry. Now efforts are being made to restore some damaged and forested heaths to their former glory. Come and hear how the RSPB's work in this area is progressing.

!Coach Trip to Dungeness on Sunday 16th Oct Cancelled!

It is a shame that we are having trouble filling coaches to attractive venues at sensible times when other members groups are managing to keep this kind of enjoyable and sociable opportunity for members available. Local Group Leader Val Bryant would welcome any suggestions as to how to make coach trips more attractive to members.
