Don't forget the Coach trip to Pulborough Brooks Sunday 30th April - This trip is on!

Location: The coach departs from Hawthorne Road, Bickley at the Bickley station end.
Postcode: BR1 2HH (Google map)

A coach trip to the RSPB Pulborough Brooks reserve. Pulborough Brooks is set in the sheltered Arun Valley within the South Downs National Park. The Visitor Centre and reserve is open all year and boasts a great variety of habitats including wetlands, woodland, and heathland. Pulborough Brooks is a haven for a wide range of wildlife. Walks lead through hedge-lined paths to viewing areas and hides where volunteers are often on hand to help point out the wildlife. In winter, the flooded meadows teem with ducks, geese and swans, whilst in spring, wading birds, such as lapwings and redshanks, breed amongst the pools and ditches, and nightingales sing from the hedgerows. With luck nightingales should be just in and singing at this time.

Organised as part of the National Nightingale Festival. For more details of the Festival, please visit www.rspb.org.uk/reserves-and-events/events-dates-and-inspiration/events/National-Nightingale-Festival/

Don't Miss Kelsey Park Heronwatch -- Sunday 9th April 2017 (11am to 4pm)

Don't Miss Kelsey Park Heronwatch -- Sunday 9th April 2017 (11am to 4pm)

Kelsey Park Heronwatch - Sunday 9 April 2017 (11am to 4pm), Kelsey Park Lake, Beckenham, BR3 3LS

You've heard about Springwatch but what about Heronwatch?

Kelsey Park in Beckenham is home to one of London's largest breeding colonies of grey herons. Every year around 25 pairs nest high in the trees on the island in the Park's lake. This is no peaceful gathering - a heronry is a place of chaos, with incredible scenes of mating, fighting, fishing and feeding.

From 11am to 4pm on Sunday 9 April the Bromley RSPB Local Group and the Friends of Kelsey Park will be holding Heronwatch 2017. Stalls will be set up and volunteers will be on hand with telescopes and binoculars to get visitors right into the drama.

Don't miss out on an unforgettable wildlife spectacle only a few yards from Beckenham town centre, in the heart of the London Borough of Bromley. Join us for Heronwatch 2017!
