Eleven of us turned up for walk around the west side of Medmerry Nature Reserve on a hot, sunny but windy day. If you've never been to Medmerry it is a fairly new Reserve which has been created by the largest managed realignment of the open coast in Europe. A new flood embankment on higher ground has made way for inter-tidal mudflats and salt-marsh. There are also saline lagoons, freshwater ponds and ditches, grassland, farmland, scrub and shingle beach. More...
