Bird Ringing at Cape Wrath by Major (Retd) Tony Crease

Our Monday evening meeting will be a return visit by Tony Crease, who enthralled us all last year with his tales of developing the nature reserve Foxglove Covert. This time he will be telling us about the many years he has spent monitoring the seabirds at Cape Wrath. A keen naturalist, he leads the team for Operation AUK, an annual assessment of seabird levels at Cape Wrath.

Time: 7.30 pm

Price: £2.50 for members, £3.50 for non-members.


Druridge Bay Coastal Park Coach Trip - All Day

Location: We will leave the Rugby Club car park at 8.30am prompt and aim to be back about 5pm traffic permitting. There is plenty of parking at the Rugby Club, Green Lane, Middlesbrough.

This is our Autumn coach trip. Northumberland is always a good day out and this venue provides different habitats, with the sea for sea watching, the coastal park with bird feeders, and an easy walk to Cresswell Ponds with its hides and scrapes. The more enthusiastic can walk further down the coastal path to the pools beyond. There is a café in the park and toilets.
