A friendly group of keen birdwatchers, the group organises a number of events including; walks at weekend and mid-week as well as indoor meetings with a range of interesting speakers.

Midweek walk - Knepp

Location: To reach the Knepp Estate take the A24 south of Horsham area and turn right to Dial Post then follow Swallow Lane north from the village for a short distance. Take a left hand track signposted to Knepp Wildlife Safaris. There is a car park after about 400 yards up the track from the entrance gate. There is a small charge for parking.

This is an interesting area which has been re-wilded over the last 15 years or so and has seen more bird life including nightingales and turtle doves which would be wonderful to see but certainly hear. The area is now very natural and encouraging so much biodiversity.

Midweek walk - Leechpool and Owlbeach Woods

Location: Leechpool and Owlbeach Woods - Take the A24 towards Horsham then the A264 and B2195. After approximately 1 mile on the B2195 there is a sign for the woods on the left hand side. Turn into entrance road to meet in the car park TQ194313.
There may be time to visit Warnham LNR afterwards.

A walk is some natural woodland areas with some water areas as well.

Midweek walk - Sheeplees and Clandon Wood

Location: We meet at the car park behind St Mary's Church, West Horsley which is on the left hand side going west along the A246. Clandon Wood is a short distance beyond Sheeplees towards Guildford on the right hand side.

Sheeplees is a lovely open woodland area with great wildflowers as well as birds and butterflies. Moving on to Clandon Wood this is part of the natural burial ground which is managed for wildlife.

Location: To reach Tice's Meadow (Aldershot Park) take the A31 and then A331 heading north. At first junction turn left on to A323. After 1/4 mile turn left into Lower Farnham Road (B3208) then take the 4th left into Guildford Road to park at the end in Aldershot Park.

Weekend Walk Thorney Island

Location: Go down the A29, turn onto A27 signposted Goodwood, then at roundabout sign posted Bosham follow Bosham sign, first exit. Continue for 3 or 4 miles until you see right turn and sign to Baker Barracks and to yacht harbor (Emsworth Yacht Harbour), turn right into yacht club, then car park on the right.
