Whales and Dolphins talk by Fiona Manson

Whales and Dolphins talk by Fiona Manson

Fiona Manson of Scottish Natural Heritage gave a very informative talk on cetaceans, in particular those occurring in Scottish waters. Twenty-three species are known to occur here although some are rare migrants just passing through. On the east coast bottle-nosed dolphins and harbour porpoises are the most common but also minke, killer, and long-finned pilot whales, white-beaked, Risso's and Atlantic white-sided dolphins can be seen at certain times of the year. For more information and how to report your sightings and participate in the 2019 National Whale and Dolphin Watch 2019 have a look at the Seawatch Foundation website.
