Birds of Prey Defenders Appeal

There were 87 confirmed incidents of raptor persecution in 2018, according to the RSPB's latest Birdcrime report, published this summer. Victims included buzzards, peregrines, owls and hen harriers. Recently, a marsh harrier was found near Scarborough with a broken wing, caused by shooting. The shotgun pellet was removed and the wing patched up, and the bird was released back into the wild.
