About us

RSPB Eastbourne & District Local Group was reformed in 1994 and currently has about 200 members.

The group's aims are to introduce new members to the RSPB, to support and to raise money to help save nature in the south east and to be involved with other community groups such as the friends of local parks (e.g. Hampden Park).

We hold monthly indoor meetings on the first Wednesday of the month (except for July and August, when there are outdoor events only) featuring a talk with slide show. They are held twice during the day, at 2.15pm until 4.30pm approx. and repeated during the evening at 7.30pm until 9.40pm. The afternoon meetings are served by bus and there is one bus to central Eastbourne after the evening meeting. The venue has a car park and local on-street parking is also available.

We have day trips by coach to field events all year round. We have local walks on the second Wednesday and the third Saturday of the month. Please see our Events page for details.

Non-members are very welcome to attend our events.

We can also give talks on birds, nature and the RSPB to community groups in the local area.

For more information about the group and our activities call Tony Vass on 01424 844304 or email eastbourneRSPB@gmail.com
