Cuckoo Trail Walk

Chiffchaff standing on gorse

Wednesday, 8 April 2015

On a fine morning, Sedley led 12 group members on a walk from the Old Loom Mill, north along the Cuckoo Trail to Hailsham and back. Although there were not many spring migrants, possibly because of recent adverse winds, chiffchaffs were a numerous and vocal exception. There were various signs of spring, including several singing song thrushes. Green woodpecker was seen, but perhaps the most spectacular sighting was the four buzzards present as we returned to the car park.
