Wednesday Walk: Shooters Bottom and Horseshoe Plantation

On a bright but cold and windy day, that improved as the morning progressed, 16 members enjoyed this walk along the downs under the Belle Tout lighthouse.

A total of 25 species of birds were seen and a green woodpecker heard. They were - buzzard, blackbird, chaffinch, cormorant, crow, dunnock, goldfinch, herring gull, jackdaw, kestrel, linnet, magpie, peregrine falcon, raven, rook, skylark, starling, stonechat, swallow, blue tit, great tit (pictured), pied wagtail, wood pigeon and wren.
