A charge of £3.00 is payable by non-members. Also see where we are holding sales events. Goods for sale are always available at our indoor meetings.

Help us to listen for the Nightingale and see how many we can find. Gentle slope. Can be muddy so wellies may be advisable. Bring a torch for the return to the car park.

Nagshead RSPB reserve

Location: Meet at the reserve car park (SO606085).

We shall be looking for summer migrants such as Wood Warblers, Garden Warblers, Pied Flycatchers, Spotted Flycatchers and Redstarts. The route includes a short, moderate climb.

Location: Meet in the main car park Stert Drove, Bridgwater, Somerset. grd ref. ST 252 442

-Take M5 south to jnct 23 A39 exit. At rbt tn rt onto A39. At rbt tn lft onto A38. At 3rd rbt tn rt onto Wylds Rd. At rbt tn rt onto Western Way (A39). Continue on A39 to 3rd rbt -2nd exit onto Cannington Bypass. At rbt 1st exit. At rbt tn rt. At rbt tn rt onto Stert Drove. Steart Marshes is on the rt side along Stert Drove.

Our first visit to this further afield site. Steart Marshes is a flood relief scheme which also benefits wildlife. Waders and waterfowl shall probably be our main finds.

Newport Wetland Centre and Goldcliff Lagoons

Location: Meet at the RSPB car Park at Newport Wetlands Centre from where we shall relocate to Goldcliff Lagoons at lunchtime. (ST559994).

Our annual visit to search the scrub, estuarine shore, reedbeds and lagoons which provide a lot of opportunities to see birds especially from the new hides at Goldcliff Lagoons. Bring lunch or buy at the RSPB reserve.
