Guernsey Weekend Walk - Rousse to Vale Pond

5 people took part in our Group walk from Rousse to Vale Pond on a beautiful warm and sunny morning with not even a hint of a breeze and a big high tide.
29 species were recorded in total including right at the end, a Sparrowhawk chasing down what looked like a Starling, unfortunately the ladies were in the loo and I was the only one to see it!
However for two of our small group there was a first ever sighting of a Water Rail that stayed out in the open for a good few minutes, and some (not me), caught a fleeting glimpse of a Kingfisher.
Species seen:- Black-headed Gull, Chaffinch, Collared Dove, Coot, Cormorant, Curlew, Great Black-backed Gull, Greenfinch, Grey Heron, House Sparrow, Herring Gull, Kestrel, Kingfisher, Little Egret, Magpie, Mallard, Moorhen, Oystercatcher, Robin, Rock Pipit, Shag, Sparrowhawk, Starling, Stonechat, Turnstone, Water Rail, Wheatear, Woodpigeon and Wren.
