Adult bittern wading in reedbed at Lee Valley Country Park

Report on the Indoor Meeting on the 9th of March.

Luckily, his replacement was Andrew Tiffany the Assistant Warden who knows the site equally well and was happy to honour the commitment to us.

He gave us an excellent talk. His enthusiasm was infectious and the evening was enjoyed by everyone. We learned about the development of the site, a very costly mistake by a British Coal Manager and the successes that have followed. We were even given a tantalising glimpse of what the Aire Valley could be like in a few years when/if the RSPB manage to acquire another site alongside the River Aire at Skelton Lakes.

I am already in talks with Andrew regarding a follow up, if not next year then hopefully in 2022.
