Stall at Wyevale Christmas Fair

Stall at Wyevale Christmas Fair

On Saturday 26th November 2016, we took up an invitation to provide a stand for the Christmas Fair, at the Wyevale Garden Centre, Little Gaddesden. Although, quiet on the day, our stand was well supported by various members of our local group.

A new feature for us was a 'Snowman' game, courtesy of David Brown and the Berkhamsted Rotary organisation. As anticipated it proved to be very popular, and was very effective in drawing attention to our stand from members of the public, of all ages! An RSPB themed version of the game is planned for similar future events. Apart from the publicity, the donations and pin badge money received was very welcome. Many thanks to Alan Corner for organising the day for us".

The Committee offers its sincere thanks for all the prizes, which were generously donated; particularly by John Penfold who, for the first prize, once again provided the funds for the large food hamper, Speyside Wildlife Holidays who generously donated a £100 voucher for their evening mammal watch and the Complete Outdoors of Bourne End who generously donated £80 worth of Gift Vouchers. Many thanks are also due to the members of the committee who donated prizes and all those people who kindly bought tickets to support the RSPB. Also, our thanks to all the volunteers who kindly delivered the envelopes.

The promoter delivered one of the prizes on 8 November; all the others prizes were claimed and taken by the winners during the Draw.

The Promoter, Peter Bolton who with his wife Susan, administered the Grand Draw, supervised the drawing of the tickets and were responsible for the distribution of the prizes.
