About us

The RSPB Highland Group was formed in 1987 to support the work of the RSPB in the Highlands. We have over 112 members. We run a series of field trips with one a month throughout the season plus the occasional Thursday trip. Indoor meetings are held on the last Thursday of the month from September to April.

Several of our members volunteer as wardens at Loch Ruthven, home of the slavonian grebe and Tollie red kites in Ross-shire. Other members volunteer for general work parties and web counts.
Our Bird Booklet '52 Bird watching sights in the Highlands' has raised more than 10,000.

As a group we enjoy showing new members the best bird watching spots in the Highlands and to provide an interesting and informative indoor programme. We are a friendly and informal group of people who give everyone a warm welcome, novice and expert alike.
