Feature site: Loch Fleet, Sutherland

Take the A9 north and follow signs for Tain and Dornoch. Three miles after crossing the Dornoch Firth bridge, turn right on to the A949 and proceed to Dornoch. From Dornoch Square, take a minor road northwards for five miles and continue until you reach a public car park almost opposite the ruins of Skelbo castle. With uninterrupted views across the loch, this is the best place for watching waders and wildfowl when the tide is low.
