Findhorn Valley

Findhorn Valley

Thursday, 12 March 2009

We travelled over Drumossie Moor and Gorbole Moor into Strathdearn stopping at several sites and seeing common species of birds. Lunch was taken at Coignafearn, followed by a short walk along the valley. Unfortunately the strong wind was keeping the birds out of the sky and only a Buzzard and Peregrine were briefly seen. Lower down the valley some returning Lapwings and Oystercatchers were feeding in the fields. To end the day we visited Loch Moy and added a few more birds to the list but were finally beaten by the rain.
