West Coast

Saturday, 29 September 2012

We stopped at Loch Achanalt to look at three whooper swans and then drove to the harbour at Gairloch where we saw our first otter of the day. Two more were seen in the afternoon at First Coast when we stopped to look at the seals basking on the rocks. Thirty plus black throated divers were on the sea near Gairloch with a few razorbills. Lunch was taken in the hide at Poolewe whilst watching curlew, oystercatchers and herons on the shore and red- breasted mergansers and four slavonian grebes on the water.
