November and December News

November and December News

There is a distinct birds of prey theme to our programme in November and December. On 6 November Ian Maguire transports us from The Settlement to the Hebridean Island of Mull, to see sea eagles and much more, whilst on 4 December Jeff Knott from the RSPB will be talking about red kites, which are becoming more common in our region. On 15 November we have a coach trip to the Essex Wildlife Trust reserve at Abberton Reservoir, before moving on to Tollesbury on the Blackwater Estuary, where we will look for raptors, waders and wildfowl in a bleak but beautiful habitat. Finally on 13 December we have an own transport trip to Little Paxton (am), with those who wish to being able to travel on to the beautiful and peaceful Woodwalton Fen in the afternoon, where we stand a chance of seeing wintering bittern, barn owls and hen harriers.

For more details about all these meetings see the Events page of this website.
