In April we welcome back, for his second visit to the group, Mark Pearson, who is a nature writer, speaker, guide, conservationist and expert birder. Mark is best known as a passionate and informed communicator and as a result is often asked to write for various publications, give talks and lectures and to appear on television and radio. This has included co-presenting features with both Simon King and Chris Packham.

Coach Trip to Whisby Nature Park

Location: Sets off from Springwood Car Park at 8.30 am - returning there at approx 7.00 pm.

Our monthly Sunday coach trip.
Whisby is an excellent all round site, run by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, and at this time of year you should be able to hear & hopefully also see Nightingale which will have just arrived along with many other summer migrants. Whisby has plenty of walks of various lengths and also has excellent facilities including a shop and cafe. Why not come along and enjoy the day with us?

Coach Trip to RSPB Frampton Marsh

Location: Sets off from Springwood Car Park at 8.00 am - returning there at approx 7.30 pm.

Our monthly Sunday coach trip.
For this trip we are once again visiting the excellent RSPB Frampton Marsh reserve, which is near to Boston in Lincolnshire. This is a great time of year to visit this wetland reserve and should provide a great diversity of birds which could include Turtle Dove, Lekking Summer plumaged Ruff and other spring migrants. The reserve has a number of good hides and walks as well as a welcoming visitors centre. Why not come along and enjoy a spring day out with us?

AGM then Members Photography Evening

Firstly we will run through our AGM as quickly as possible.

Following the AGM we will have our members photography evening which will showcase some of the best photography from our very own members. Some photographs will certainly have come from our monthly coach outings, others from our local area and some will be from much more distant venues! It will of course focus on birds but will also include other wildlife and landscapes that our members have been able to photograph.

Coach Trip to North Cave & RSPB Bempton Cliffs

Location: Sets off from Springwood Car Park at 8.30 am - returning there at approx 7.30 pm.

Our monthly Sunday coach trip. Our final trip of this programme sees us firstly visiting the excellent Yorkshire Wildlife Trust reserve of North Cave Wetland. Here we should see a good selection of water / marsh birds together with some farmland species. It is also very good for wild flowers and dragonflies. At Bempton we will visit the RSPB's Bempton Cliffs reserve to see the magical spectacle of thousands of nesting sea birds that include the large Gannet colony as well as Puffins, Guillemots etc. Why not come along and enjoy this spectacle of birds with us?
