We left Springwood at 8.30 am heading for Attenborough Nature Reserve nr Nottingham which was a new venue for the group. Arrived at about 10.15 to bright sunshine and the sound of many warblers there was a whitethroats or Black Caps in every Tree and bush and all the flowers and trees were in Blossom. Near there were breeding Coots, Moorhen and Reed Warblers, also on the lake were Mute Swans, Red Crested Potchard, Egyptian and Canada Geese. Next we visited the Tower Hide (1 of 3 hides) were the Black Tern was and good views were had of it and also Common Tern. In the scrub nearby were Ceti's, Sedge, and Grasshopper Warblers most of which were seen!! At one of the other hides Great Crested Grebe and Black Headed Gull were seen. Also seen there were 2 Hobby's. Seen elsewhere on the site were waders including Oystercatcher and Little Ringed Plover.
