The coach left Springwood at 8 am with 17 adults arriving at Rutland at 10.30. The weather was warm but with some very heavy showers. There is always a lot to see at this large and site with plenty of Hides to shelter from those heavy showers. The Highlights of the day was a bufflehead which was seen in the Goldeneye Hide and a Black necked Grebe seen from the Kingfisher Hide. There were some great views of Hobby and more distant view of Marsh Harrier along with Kestral, Red Kite and Buzzard. There were a good number of waterfowl including Shoveler, Pintail, Gadwall and Pochard. There was a large variety of waders including Ruff, Green Sandpiper, Greenshank, Redshank, Dunlin, Blacktailed Godwit, Snipe and Ringed Plover. Other Highlights of the day included Great White Egret and Egyptian geese, Kingfisher, Green and Great Spotted Woodpecker also common and Sandwich Tern.
