Adult and children with book and binoculars birdwatching

2008 Programme of Events now available

Welcome to the Lancaster Local Group. If you are already a member of the Local Group, you should have recently received the 2008 Programme and Newsletter through the post. If you are not already a member, why not join us in 2008 for only £2 per year.

Our members enjoy birdwatching in an area that has wide variety of habitats. The group tries to arrange both outdoors & indoor meetings on a regular basis.

The aim of the group is to enable people who have an interest in birdwatching to share their experience with like-minded people.

We arrange a varied programme of field trips & indoor meetings for all to enjoy & participate in.

We allow newcomers to the area & persons who have only recently acquired an interest in birdwatching to gain local knowledge of the area that will allow them to relate habitat to species.

The field meetings are very informal & do not require that persons participating have expert knowledge. The Novice is just as welcome as the Expert to share the experience of birdwatching.
The field meetings are usually within the local vicinity, with others further afield either by coach or car sharing.

Anyone who is interested in joining the group can obtain further information via the Contacts section on this webpage, or from the following contacts:
